Roscommon County Council spent over half a million euro on legal fees last year. It's an increase of nearly 50% from 2024. New figures, released under the Freedom of Information Act, show the council spent €933,000 on legal fees in the space of two years. Last year's bill was nearly 556,000 - up from over 377,000 in 2024.
32 legal firms were paid money last year. The highest amount was over €97,000, which was paid to Galway firm Blake and Kenny. The next highest was almost 95,000 paid to solicitor Dermot McDermott. The third highest was nearly €93,000 paid to barrister Dermot G Hewson.
