Roscommon councillors are calling for more electronic tagging of criminals to address a rise in burglaries. Independent councillor Anthony Waldron made the proposal at yesterday’s council meeting, and it was agreed by others.
Protests have been held in Castlerea, Ballaghaderreen and Glinsk recently about rural crime. Councillor Waldron says he will raise his tagging proposal with the new justice minister after Friday’s general election:
