The Department of Integration confirmed that apartments located on St Patrick Street in Castlerea will be provided for the incoming families. 52 asylum seekers were due to move into apartments at Riverwalk in the town in June, but it is still not known when they will be arriving.
Roscommon councillor Gareth Scahill is seeking a meeting with the Department of Integration to discuss what supports will be in place to accommodate the new families. The Fine Gael politician is calling for more clarity and engagement ahead of their arrival:
