A Roscommon councillor is calling for the deadline of the Local Improvement Scheme to be extended due to the current Level 5 lockdown.

The LIS helps councils to carry out improvement works on private and non-publicly maintained roads, with locals paying between 10 and 15 per cent of the total cost of the project.

Councillor Anthony Waldron has urged the local authority to extend this weeks deadline in order to give locals the chance to apply for the funding.
