A Roscommon man has been nominated for a national award for his volunteering efforts in his local community.
Bernie Kearney from Fourmilehouse is in the running for a Local Authority Members Association award in the Community Volunteer of the Year category.
The awards ceremony takes place in Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork on Saturday, February 22nd.

Bernie has has been serving his local community for the best part of five decades in a variety of different roles.
He says he's honoured to be recognised in this way and said he was grateful for the support of family and neighbours.
