There was a robust debate on speeding outside of schools in Co. Roscommon at yesterday's council meeting.
Fianna Fáil Cllr Paschal Fitzmaurice brought a motion forward calling for speed ramps to be installed in the vicinity of all schools in towns and villages over the next 3 years.
However, members of the council's management team said it would be difficult to implement the proposal without support from the Department of Education and Transport.
