Work is to finally begin on repairs at Ballinamuck bridge on the 29th of this month.
Repairs have been needed on the historic structure over the Black River for some time now and progress was further delayed last year when a contractor appointed was unable to take the project on later.
The existing parapet walls of the bridge have collapsed into the river and the repairs will involve recovering the collapsed masonry, rebuilding the walls, and cleaning the bridge of vegetation.
Councillor Padraig Brady says the project has been a long standing issue for him and he's delighted that the work is finally going to happen.
