Co. Leitrim has recorded the cheapest average market rent in the region.
The most recent Daft.ie rental report found the Shannonside region is among the most affordable counties in the country.
A Daft.ie report published this morning reveals rents in the open market rose by a further 1.6% in the second quarter of 2025.
Co. Leitrim was the most affordable county in the region, where the average rent was €1,261 -- an increase of 10.7% on the same time last year.
However, average listed rent in the county is now up 110% since pre-covid levels -- the highest in the country.
While in Roscommon, market rents were on average 7.4% higher in the second quarter of 2025 than a year previously, with the average listed rent now €1,448.
This us up 103% from the level prevailing when the Covid-19 pandemic occurred.
Meanwhile in Longford, market rents were on average 5.2% higher, with the listed rent now €1,422.
Nationally, the average open-market rent nationwide between April and June was €2,055 per month, up from a low of just €765 in 2011 and 51% higher than before the outbreak of covid-19.
