The rate of inflation has eased to 8.2 per cent for the twelve months to December.
That's down from 8.9 per cent for the year to November 2022.
Prices fell in the month of December by 0.2 per cent.

The main reason for the decline was a reduction in transport costs, due to lower prices for diesel and petrol.
