Public submission deadline extended for planned Lough Ree Greenway

The closing date for submissions was due to be today at 4 o'clock but that deadline is now extended until April 11th.

The deadline for submissions regarding the proposed Lough Ree Greenway has been extended until next week.

It comes as residents in Lecarrow, south Roscommon held a meeting this week to raise their concerns about the project.

The study area for the greenway covers large areas of south Roscommon including Roscommon town, Knockcroghery, Lecarrow, Kiltoom and Hodson Bay.

Three route corridor options were presented to members of the public last month but those in Lecarrow say not enough notice was given ahead of the public consultation.

Around 100 people from the area met with local public representatives at St John's Community Centre on Monday night.

The closing date for submissions was due to be today at 4 o'clock but that deadline is now extended until April 11th.
