PSNI say human error responsible for massive data breach

The names, ranks and stations of all serving PSNI officers and details of civilian staff were mistakenly released.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland says human error was responsible for a massive data breach.

The names, ranks and stations of all serving PSNI officers and details of civilian staff were mistakenly released as part of a Freedom of Information Request.

An emergency meeting of Northern Ireland's Policing Board has been called for tomorrow.

Assistant Chief Constable Chris Todd says the information which has now been taken down, contained just limited details of staff.
