Planning permission has been sought for a new telecommunications mast in a Westmeath village. On Tower Limited are seeking to construct a 27 metre lattice telecom tower at Pearsonbrook, Glasson near Athlone. The structure would carry antennae, dishes, remote radio units and associated equipment for provision of wireless data and broadband services.
Plans also include ground-based equipment cabinets, fencing, gantry poles, cable ladder and concrete plinths. County planners will decide on the application in July.
