Hubert Darcy’s last gasp goal secured defending champions Padraig Pearses a draw with Boyle in their Hudson Bay Hotel Roscommon senior football opener.
Pearses came back from a 10 point deficit to draw 2-10 to 3-7 with thanks to two goals from Hubert Darcy.
James Bolger had opened the scoring on two minutes with a Boyle goal as Boyle led 1-7 to four points at the break with Donie Smith finding the Pearses net moments into the second half.

Enda Smith added Boyle’s third goal on nine minutes to make it 3-7 to 0-4. Boyle would not score again in the game as Smith saw the line for a second yellow card.
Darcy found the net on 43 minutes, following up his missed penalty to beging Padraig Pearses comeback which ended in a draw.
