Over 50 patients waiting for a bed at local hospitals

There were just over 50 patients waiting for a bed at hospitals serving the Shannonside region this morning.

Figures published by the INMO, show there were 53 across Sligo, Portiuncula and Mullingar hospitals.

44 were waiting at Sligo University Hospital with five and four Portiuncula and Mullingar respectively.

Nationally, University Hospital Limerick remains the country's most overcrowded at 106.
