There are over 30,000 fuel allowance recipients in the Shannonside Northern Sound region.
The figures come following a parliamentary question Dublin South Central Deputy Catherine Ardagh to Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary.
The Fuel Allowance is a payment to help with the cost of heating your home during the winter months.
It is paid to only one person in a household.
It normally begins in late September of each year and ends in April.
In total, 30,771 receive the allowance across Longford, Leitrim, Roscommon, Cavan and Monaghan.
Cavan sees the largest amount with 7,791 followed by Roscommon with 7,082.
There are 6,216 recipients in Monaghan and 5,413 in Longford.
Leitrim sees the smallest number of recipients locally at 4,269.
