Over 1,500 applicants across the Shannonside region were still waiting for their driving test at the end of June.
It comes as waiting times at Carrick-on-Shannon and Roscommon test centres have reached the target of less than 10 weeks.
The Central Statistics Office provided a break-down of the number of applicants who were still waiting for a driving test at the end of last month.
Co. Longford had the highest figure in the Shannonside region, at a total of 607 people waiting for their test by the end of June.
The county has one of the longest waiting times in the country, at 19 weeks.
Meanwhile in Co. Roscommon, 567 applicants were still waiting for their test at the end of June, followed by 392 in Co. Leitrim.
In total, there were 1,566 applicants waiting last month, a drop of 7% compared to June 2024.
While 700 applications were received by driving test centres across the Shannonside region.
