Excitement is building in Elphin ahead of the official opening of the Palace Neighbour Wood Park and sensory garden. It's the first of it's kind in county Roscommon and will be opened by the Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council Liam Callaghan later today.
The project has been seven years in the making and has transformed a former field into a public walking space, featuring a sensory garden, wildlife habitats and accessible walking trails. Kathleen Fahy, secretary of the committee behind the project is delighted to see the hard work come to fruition:
