A county Leitrim nursing home has received a largely positive report from the health watchdog.
HIQA carried out an unannounced inspection of Lough Erril Private Nursing Home close to Mohill in November last year, the details of which have been published this week.
Lough Erril admits and provides care for residents of varying degrees of dependency, from low to maximum.
The nursing home is over two levels.
All resident accommodation is on the ground floor. There are six twin bedrooms and 37 single bedrooms.
Inspectors found that residents were generally well cared for in a clean and welcoming environment, with staff described by residents as kind, attentive, and respectful.
Many residents spoke highly of the care they received and said they felt safe and comfortable in their home.
Communal areas, accommodation and outdoor spaces were observed to be well maintained, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere noted throughout the visit.
Inspectors also noted good access to healthcare services and flexible visiting arrangements for families and loved ones.
However, HIQA found areas needing improvement.
The centre was judged substantially compliant around staff record-keeping and contract documentation.
Some staff files lacked all required references, and some contracts of care did not clearly outline fee arrangements or room details.
