The number of local people who got penalty points for driving a car without an NCT increased by over a third last year.
A total of 116 motorists in the Shannonside region were punished for the offence in 2025 - up from 86 in 2024.
Last year 55 Roscommon drivers got penalty points for the crime - along with 38 in Longford, and 23 in Leitrim.
