A number of bars and restaurants based in the Shannonside region have been nominated for prestigious national awards.
The Oarsman and McHugh's bar, both located in Carrick-on-Shannon, are finalists in the 2023 Bar of the Year awards.
McHugh's has been named in the Best Live Entertainment and Best Newcomer section while the Oarsman is competing for Gastro Pub of the Year.

Meanwhile the Wineport Lodge in Glasson has been nominated for Hotel Bar of the Year.
The awards will take place on August 21st in Dublin
