Planning permission has been granted for a new upgrade at a Roscommon primary school.
The Board of Management at Croghan National School in Boyle had been seeking approval for new special educational needs (SEN) facilities at its premises.
The submission included the construction of five SEN classroom extensions, as well as an existing classroom.
The board of management also requested the two existing pre-fabricated SET classroom units and toilet block be removed once the new extensions are complete.
County planners approved the application with ten conditions attached.
These include the completion of additional on-site car parking spaces prior to or in conjunction with the first occupation of the additional classrooms, and that construction activity be limited to avoid disturbance for residents in the area.
