The newly finished Battery Road in Longford Town is set to be officially opened today. The controversial works on the road took two years to complete, and have resulted in a significant amount of complaints from the public and local businesses.
The project is set to be officially opened in the town at 4:30pm by Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Sean Canney. Longford councillor Peggy Nolan says the road will improve the town's safety:
