New report highlights low rate of construction in the region

Just 1.2 percent of new construction activity took place in the Shannonside region in the last 3 months of 2021.

A new report from GeoDirectory.ie shows Leitrim, Longford and Roscommon are in the bottom four nationally when it comes to new builds in Q4 2021.

Leitrim recorded the lowest levels of construction activity in the country followed by Sligo, Longford and Roscommon in 4th place.

CEO of GeoDirectory, Dara Keogh, says almost two thirds of the new homes being built are in eastern counties.
