Approval has been granted for a new fire station for Ballymahon.
The announcement has been made the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage under the new Fire Services Capital Plan.
Also included in the announcement is a new fire appliance in Longford fire station.

Over 3,000 people live in the town and the current station services over 10,000 people.
