New calls for extra recreational facilities in Castlerea and Roscommon

There are new calls for extra leisure facilities to be developed in Castlerea Swimming Pool and Roscommon Leisure Centre.

It's after a delegation from Roscommon County Council travelled to Lisburn, Co Antrim, on Tuesday to view their state-of-the-art facilities.

The purpose of the trip was to see if any similar leisure amenities should be developed in Roscommon.

Fianna Fáil councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice was part of the delegation - he believes Castlerea Swimming Pool should be expanded.

He also believes Roscommon Leisure Centre in the county town should be expanded.
