The people of Roscommon Town have helped re-unite a Galah Cockatoo and it's worried owner following an appeal yesterday. Georgie is a Galah cockatoo, who lives with his owner on the Galway Road in Roscommon Town. He escaped from his home on Monday night and was last seen close to the home near the railway bridge.
Following an appeal on the Joe Finnegan Show yesterday morning, dozens of people reported sightings of the bird locally. Thanks to locals in the area, the bird's owner Macdara was able to coax Georgie down from a caravan and get him home. Macdara describes the moment he rescued Georgie:
