The Mental Health Minister has been questioned in the Seanad about why a local suicide-prevention charity isn't government-funded.

North West Stop provides free counselling to all ages across the region.

The service was raised in the Seanad by Sinn Féin Senator Chris Andrews this week.

He said he has been speaking to his party colleague, Leah Cull - a councillor in north Roscommon.

Minister Mary Butler says she won't respond to questions about individual cases or organisations.
