Culture and Communications Minister Patrick O'Donovan has invited social media firms to a meeting tomorrow.

It's after Tánaiste Simon Harris said the era of self-regulation for tech firms is over, according to the Irish Examiner.

Minister O'Donovan says age verification is vital for young people.

CyberSafeKids CEO Alex Cooney says age verification needs to be discussed at the meeting along with keeping children safe online.
