Longford County Council will dedicate a memorial bench to late community champion Mike Prunty.
The ceremony will take place at Corn Hill, Drumlish next Tuesday at 4 o'clock.
It will honour a man who spent over six decades championing Longford causes in the United State.
Mr Prunty, who passed away last December, served as President of the County Longford Association of Greater New York for the longest period in its 133-year history.
He also held roles as an Officer in the Ancient Order of Hibernians and as President of the United Irish Counties.
He was born in Ballincurry, Drumlish in 1940 and emigrated to New York in 1959.
