The man who died in a workplace accident in south Roscommon yesterday has been named locally as Paddy Harney, from Monksland. He died in a tragic accident in Bealnamulla at around 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and a file will be prepared for the coroner's court.
Mr Harney, who was aged in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Local councillor John Keogh has been paying tribute to Paddy and expressing condolences with his family:
