Gardai in Longford are investigating after a violent incident on the town's Main Street this afternoon.
It's understood a man in his 20s suffered stab wounds and has been hospitalised for his injuries.
The man is understood to have sustained the injuries in an altercation in a restaurant on the Main Street just after 3pm.

The scene remains sealed off this evening as gardai carry out a technical examination of the scene.
It's not yet clear if the incident is linked to any other previous incidents of violence in the town over the last number of weeks, including a stabbing incident in Penneys last month.
