A man in his 20's has been arrested following a violent assault in Longford town.
Emergency services attended the scene on Main Street at approximately 3:15pm this afternoon.
It's understood a man in his 20's suffered stab wounds and was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar to be treated for his injuries.

The second male involved was arrested and is being detained at Granard Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
