A local university has received major new funding as part of a wider announcement made today. TUS which has a campus in Athlone, will receive €690,000. The funding provides higher education institutions with the flexibility to determine how best sustainability can be secured across their campuses, taking advantage of the strengths of individual campuses.
Meanwhile ATU will receive €2.6 million in funding and University of Galway receiving €230,000. Speaking to Shannonside News, local MEP Maria Walsh believes the funding will help local campuses:
