A major protest will be held in Athlone in January against the mercosur trade deal.
It comes after EU chief Ursula von der Leyen told EU leaders the signing of a free trade deal would be postponed to January.
Roscommon-Galway TD Michael Fitzmaurice told the Joe Finnegan Show the protest is to show the government that Irish farmers do not want this deal to go through.

The protest is due to take place on the tenth of January in Athlone.
