Lower risk pregnant mothers may stay away from Ballinasloe - councillor

Reviews into nine deliveries in the unit since 2023, including two stillbirths, are ongoing.

A Fine Gael councillor says she's worried lower-risk pregnant mothers will decide not to have their babies in Ballinasloe hospital.

It's after the HSE confirmed no high-risk mothers can have their babies in Portiuncula Hospital in the long-term.

Reviews into nine deliveries in the unit since 2023, including two stillbirths, are ongoing.

South Roscommon councillor Valerie Duffy says she's very worried about this week's development:
