A Longford woman has been named 'Hero of the Year' at the National Lottery Good Causes awards.
Evelyn Neary from Cian's Kennels was awarded at the ceremony last night.
The awards celebrate the remarkable achievements of projects, clubs, and individuals across Ireland.
Cian's Kennels re-unite children undergoing medical treatment with their family pets at their purpose built centre at the Children's Hospital in Dublin.
The charity was formed in memory of Evelyn's son, Cian, who passed away due to an illness in 2019.
Speaking on Let's Talk just before the awards, Evelyn expressed her joy that Cian's legacy is having an impact on other children in need:
