A Longford based film will make its US premiere next month.
Lakelands, a debut feature by Granard natives Robert Higgins and Patrick McGivney tells the story of a Gaelic footballer who struggles to comes to terms with a career-ending injury.
The movie which was shot at various locations around the county and will be screened at this year's Santa Barbara International Film Festival between the 8th and 18th of February.

Announcing the news Film maker Robert Higgins stated when making the movie they hoped it would travel.
This is the first international showing of the film.
