Locals in Ballaghaderreen have welcomed the appointment of Kevin Doran as the new Bishop of Achonry. The Diocese of Achonry had been without a bishop for almost a year until Kevin Doran got the job yesterday.
He's staying on as Bishop of Elphin, which is in the process of merging with Achonry. These people welcomed the appointment after mass in Ballaghaderreen this morning:
