A local TD says there is 'confusion' at Portiuncula University Hospital's maternity unit.
Roscommon-Galway TD Martin Daly raised the issue with the Tánaiste in the Dáil yesterday.
He explained the Walker Report of 2018 had outlined the need to address resource and staffing inadequacies at the hospital, as well as enhance the level of training of its staff.
The HSE West-North West now claims the maternity unit has failed in spite of the report, while chief executive of the HSE Bernard Gloster has recently stated the Walker report had never been implemented.
