A local TD has slammed plans to temporarily relocate the Air Ambulance in Athlone to Dublin next month. Sinn Féin Deputy Claire Kerrane says moving the service for a period of six to eight weeks was 'unacceptable'. The re-location is due to structural repair work at the Air Ambulance hangar in Athlone.
Deputy Kerrane, however, is urging the National Ambulance Service to consider the use of an airport nearby. Speaking to Shannonside News, she expressed concerns over decision making at the NAS:
