A local TD has called for a reform of the presidential election nomination process. Just three candidates will be on the ballot paper for next months election, which is the lowest since 1990.
It's led to calls from some politicians for the nomination process to be reviewed. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Independent Ireland TD Michael Fitzmaurice outlined the changes he'd like to see happen:
