Students at Convent of Mercy Roscommon took part in a seminar this morning aimed at introducing women and people from diverse backgrounds to politics. The event was part of a roadshow series hosted by Roscommon County Council and See Her Elected across the county. See Her Elected is an organisation which aims to deliver greater female engagement in the political process.
The seminars examine the history of women in politics in Roscommon, and the functions of the County Council. Independent councillor Valerie Byrne also addressed students as part of this morning's event. These sixth year students enjoyed today's seminar:
