Local student calls on Taoiseach to clarify plans for Leaving Cert 2022

Students argue that they should be given the option of accredited grades like the year before them.

The Dail has heard a plea from a Roscommon student to the Taoiseach for clarity on how the Leaving Cert will be handled next year.

TD Denis Naughten read out an email he received from a secondary school student concerned over having missed significant amounts of time in the classroom due to the Covid pandemic while in fifth year.

The Roscommon TD claims that the student feels those facing state exams in the coming months should be given an option of accredited grades like their 2021 counterparts.
