A local senator says Pope Francis's death should lead to more dialogues between the Irish government and the Church. Ronan Mullen says he was delighted Ireland was so well represented at the Pope's funeral last Saturday.

President Michael D Higgins, Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Tánaiste Simon Harris were in Rome for the ceremony. Senator Mullen says it should lead to better relations between the Church and state:
