A local Senator has called for funding to be provided for the replacement of older water infrastructure in rural areas. Fine Gael Senator Gareth Scahill raised the issue with Minister of State Kieran O'Donnell in the Seanad this week.
The Castlerea based Senator says whilst he welcomes significant progress made by Irish Water in the past decade, work still needs to be done. Scahill also highlighted a case from a hospitality business in Cloonfad with Minister O'Donnell:
