Senator Eugene Murphy says he would have no objection to Dr Martin Daly running alongside him in the general election in Roscommon-Galway. It's after the Ballygar GP announced last night he wants to represent Fianna Fáil in the election.
He's set to battle with Senator Murphy at their selection convention later this month. Senator Murphy, from Scramogue, says Fianna Fail must run a Roscommon candidate in the election - but he would have no problem with a two-candidate strategy with Dr Daly:
