Local Senator calls for government to move past Electric Picnic and help wider industry

There's been anger in the industry following confirmation Arts Minister Catherine Martin will be excluded from a Cabinet Sub Committee meeting on restrictions today.

A local Senator is calling for the Government to forget about Electric Picnic and focus on the wider events sector.

Fianna Fail's Eugene Murphy says that there are thousands of performers and support professionals across the country who need to get back to work.

Cabinet Ministers are still believed to be considering a number of proposals to see Electric Picnic go ahead including designating it as a pilot event and only allowing vaccinated people to attend.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show today, Senator Murphy's says the state needs to support live events in every single country:
