Local senator calls for enquiry into death of Roscommon priest Fr Niall Molloy

The second part of the two part RTE documentary into the death of Fr Niall Molloy will be aired tomorrow night.

A Fianna Fáil senator's calling for a new inquiry into the violent death of a Roscommon priest 36 years ago.

Fr Niall Molloy was killed in Richard and Theresa Flynn's mansion in Clara, Co Offaly, in 1985.

Richard Flynn was the only person charged in connection with his death - but he was cleared of manslaughter in 1986.

The family of Fr Niall Molloy is calling for a commission of investigation into his violent death.

Roscommon senator Eugene Murphy is backing the Molloy family's call for a new inquiry, after a new documentary was aired:

Both the Flynns are now dead, but Roscommon senator Eugene Murphy says the state should still order a new inquiry.
