School secretaries and caretakers across the Shannonside region are set to begin their indefinite strike action this morning.
More than 2,600 members of Forsa, the trade union for public service staff, are involved in the strike, which will impact around schools and children across Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon.
It's over a row over pension and other entitlements.

Talks between trade union Forsa and the Department of Education failed to reach a resolution last night.
