Local Roses set to take the stage this evening in Tralee

Shauna Sammon will be eighth up on stage tonight while Longford Rose Sara-Lee will be straight after.

Two women with Shannonside Northern Sound connections will be taking the stage tonight at the Rose of Tralee festival. Sara-Lee Greene is the Longford Rose and Shauna Sammon is representing London. Sara-Lee hails from Edgeworthstown while Mayo native Shauna's mother was born in Leitrim and grew up in Blacklion, Co Cavan. The 25-year-old Longford Rose works as a Mental Health Service nurse while the London Rose is a primary school teacher. Sara-Lee Greene says the build up to the festivities has been ‘surreal’. She’ll be hoping to take home the crown by using her singing talents:
